“When I was a kid growing up in Middlemount, we had to go to Mackay or Rockhampton for most of our shopping. I have many childhood memories of day trips to Mackay for essential clothing. A day trip to town in the old station wagon entailed driving half of the 3 hours over a single lane Beef Road, pulling over to the shoulder of the road, onto dirt, to let cattle trucks and fuel tankers pass. Us kids would be hanging arms out of the windows, hoping to get a truck to blow its horn. A day in a shopping centre was definitely a lot more exciting for us kids than Mum, especially when she had to turn us around and make the 3 hour return trip before dark. The Vault Surf and Fashion pays homage to this small town childhood memory, understanding the value of supplying on trend goods to an inland community'"
